Karl Wildhagen beer mug rack, Munich Germany circa 1906. A sensational & large iron & brass wall rack, likely used to hold beer mugs or could be used to hold cooking pots or coats. Although unsigned, Wildhagen was known for his whimsical motifs and very detailed metalwork of figures and animals. The main body has two figures cut from one piece of metal, each detailed with repoussé and line work. The first figure holds a large beer mug and a chicken, the other seated with a pipe, both dressed in medieval garb. the background is a large piece of hammered brass. The rack portion is attached with two dragon heads, hammered armature with five brass mug holders. A sensational piece of Munich Arts & Crafts metalwork. Measures 21” wide, 16” tall and 8” deep. SOLD
