Fred Brosi and Hans Jauchen were two important figures in the San Fransisco bay area metalwork community. The pair formed the Ye Olde Copper Shoppe in 1916 where they created the iconic eucalyptus line of objects which featured real seed pods dipped in bronze and applied as ornament with hand crafted bronze leafs on copper objects. The pair split up within a year with Hans forming the Jauchens Olde Copper Shop that remained in business through 1940. Brosi started Old Mission Kopper Kraft in 1922 which was bankrupt by 1925. Many forms from these various shops will be found including vases, bowls, desk sets, trays as well as a variety of rare lamps.
