Frederick Lueders lamp, Pasadena circa 1910. This hammered copper lamp is attributed to Lueders based on the design motifs and qualities seen on other Lueders objects from his time in California. Frederick H. W. Lueders arrived in Santa Barbara in 1901 and started working for Mrs. Elizabeth Burton in 1903. In 1909, Lueders as well as Burton were listed separately in the California exhibition catalog showcasing metalwork at the Seattle Alaska-Yukon Pacific Exposition having moved to Pasadena to open the "Handicraft Shop" on Colorado Blvd. This lamp has hand worked scenes of high sierra lakes with deer and birds with tall pine trees rising from in the panels as well as on the base. The wide base is riveted to a piece of wood supporting the four sided shaft and deep reddish orange mica shade. Measures 22” tall with a 15.5” square shade. SOLD
