Frey Pottery lamp, New Jersey circa 1920. A large and heavy stoneware red clay lamp base covered in a thick mottled green and black glaze. The glaze has been applied across the metal fitter at top and drips down to the base. Frey is a little known studio pottery out of the New Jersey area active around 1915 to 1930. The lamp has a large “Japanese” woven reed shade which retains the original silk patterned lining. Overall excellent condition to base and shade, rewired with silk cord and new period sockets. Rubber spaces added to shade for extra support. Signed on base. Base measures 25” tall, 9” girth at center, shade is 18” square and 8” tall. Will ship in two boxes. SOLD
