A resident of Adams, Massachusetts, Roy Peebles was a painter who exhibited locally and with the Society of Independent Artists and the Salons of America. The summer school was one of the more important during the Arts & Crafts period (see advertisement from The School Arts Magazine), run by Raymond Ensign of Pratt and assisted by names likes Walter Scott Perry, Henry Turner Bailey, Ernest Watson and more.
