Eugen Berner, Vereinigten Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk (United Workshops for Art in Crafts) electrified reflector sconce circa 1898, Munich. This sensational fixture in brass & iron was illustrated in Kunst Und Handwerk (1897/8) as well as seen in a period image from the 1899 Dresden exhibition. Alongside the poppy candlestick of Richard Riemerschmid, this is one of the earliest known objects from the VW and a premiere example of the flowering of Art Nouveau in Germany. Measures 18” wide by 15” tall. SOLD
